Djinu/Mapa

This painting is a collaboration between Lucy Yukenbarri and Eubena Nampitjin. Each artist has painted some of their country that leads to the other's country. Lucy has painted a rockhole known as Mapa. This is the country where Lucy lived and hunted as a young woman with her family, while her mother and grandmother were custodians for the area. The landscape here, like the painting itself, is dominated by talis (sand dunes). Depsite this, there is abundant food in the area, including kantilli (bush raisin) and purra (bush tomato).
