Sugarloo

This painting shows an area of Victoria River Downs Station in the Northern Territory. Sugarloo Billabong and Sugarloo Knob are indicated near the lower left of the image. At the edges of the painting are limestone hills. Sugarloo Creek Ngalgarung flows diagonally across the centre. The station workers would follow this creek from the stock camps at Gordon Creek (lower left) to holiday camps at Moorloothbyi (upper right). "All the station workers would meet up for ceremony and for holidays sharing stories, dancing and hunting together."
