Lisa Uhl is a young woman with a disability who lives in Fitzroy Crossing in the West Kimberley area of Western Australia. She has lived there all her life. Her language group is Wangkajungka.
Through her abstract paintings, Lisa represents her love for her home, her country and her community. The layering of colours within her works creates an atmospheric rhythm which speaks of the humidity and expanse of the Kimberley. It is through her art that Lisa displays her unique cultural connection to place.
