Gerany - Stone Country

“This is stone country – when I walk across this country there are lots of rocks and little coloured stones. In the wet season the rivers are filled with coloured stones. We call them Gerany.”

In this composition, Phyllis relates her cultural connection to her country through a story given to her by her father. It is a corroboree story. In the performance, the dancers describe the boundaries of their stony Miriwoong country at Woorrewoorrem.
