Oolaign is the name for a larger section of Boxer's traditional country, along the middle stretches of Sturt Creek. This painting shows a variety of tjurrnu (soakwaters) and billabongs throughout this country, and the different colours depict the different landscape; green is yuka, a type of grass, yellow are parmar, or hills, and the red shows the red soils of this area. The arches along the edges of the painting are Yakaru (the moon when it is half full), shown here as it travels the night sky, known as Mumbaree, before setting at dawn, or Rungurn.
