My Father's Country - Ngaanyatjarra

"This is my father's country, Ngaanyatjarra House Bluff near Ayers Rock in the desert. He was a Pitjinjarra man. My father was a strong lawman. He had three wives. We walked that rough country from there to Sturt Creek Station about nine hundred kilometres. My father, he showed us the way. We lived off the land. My mother, she was blind from when she was a young girl, but she showed me how to live. When we got to Sturt Creek I worked at the big house. My mother, father and brother walked to Gordon Down Station. They bin kill my father, they never found his body."
