This painting depicts the country of Susie's youth. This country is known as Kaningarra and is located at the top of the Canning Stock Route. It is where she lived and hunted as a young woman, with her family. In the centre of the painting is a soakwater (tjumu) called Kaningarra. This place is known as 'living water' as it always contains good water. Surrounding the tjumu is tjunda (bush onion), which is easily found here. Tjunda is dug up, cleaned and then eaten either raw, or briefly cooked on a fire.
