Seven Sisters

Sidney has painted some of his parents' country which is south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. The story tells of an old man lying down in the desert and looking up into the stars and watching the Seven Sisters. During the Tjukurrpa, the Seven Sisters – who are all of the Napaltjarri skin group – travelled through the desert carrying their law. They left it at all the waterholes depicted in this painting.
